Usually, the Cat Distribution System doesn't care if you're an expawrienced pet parent, a newly adopted human, or what animals are actually inside your house. It only cares about you being a good fit to pawrent the cat in need it sends in your way. And oh boy, does the CDS make some purrfect matches between people and cats.

This next kitten was meant to be found and adopted into an already animal-filled home. But when your heart is big enough - you find room for another kitten. Especially if this kitten is in a need for a home. They found him digging in the trash, desperately trying to find food. And in this weather? It's a matter of survivability - especially for such young kittens on the street. They need a roof over their heads, a bowl full of nutrious food, and the love of a family. And lots of treats, surely.

But what do you do when you adopt a cat in an already pet-full house? Well, you make room. And besides, cats can be friends with many animals - you just need to introduce them correctly. And when you do? Not only you won a feline friend for life, but also the rest of the household pets.

  • Oh, yes! Look at these toes on this kitten. It's like he grew more toes so he can hug more - because as you can soon read, he has entered a literal full house. Parents, kids, cats, and other pets are waiting for this cute kitten to feel fully at home (just as any stray cat deserve, truly).

    OP Cornloaf You are probably right about that. There was no mother around and he was eating trash with his sister. He was just hissing and spitting (never experienced that before) and using his claws and teeth to mess us up.

    We had to keep him caged for a couple of days and our local cat lady said when he finally came to the door when you open it, he's ready to roam.

  • Look at these two - chilling together, like close friends who have known each other for years. This picture makes us ahppy for two reasons:

    First of all, the fact a cat is willing to chill and relax next to someone else (in this case, the family's dog), means they let their guard down. And cats rarely let their guard down. If they relax next to someone - is shows high levels of trust the cat has in them. And in this case? This doggo looks like a sweetheart, a friend to cherish. And we guess this cat knows it.

    Second of all, we're happy to see that this kitten is relaxed at all. Just imagine the unbarable stress he must've felt living in the streets. The fact he can now relax says it all. He has a roof over his head, a food bowl that will never go empty, and a family that loves him. That's truly heatwarming.

    OP Cornloaf Yes! He was in his cage in the attic bedroom. We have three adult cats and the dog so wanted a slow intro. So far the meanest of my cats is the most interested and has tried to groom him. My daughter's disabled cat (cerebellum hypoplasia) keeps trying to fight him but he falls over when he raises his front paw to smack him.

    OP Cornloaf We also just lost our black polydactyl around the same time as our dog. Shortly after we adopted him, I was making bagels. Looked over and he opened the cream cheese tub with his catcher mitt hands and started eating. He was a wonderful cat!

    OP Cornloaf Everyone warned me about orange kitties. One of my good friends that is basically a "cat lady" said her and her husband have a rule of no orange kitties allowed.
